Don’t stop now!

I understand how difficult it might be right now – the uncertainty of rolling lockdowns…

And having spoken to all of my clients over the last couple of days, I understand that it is affecting different businesses in different ways.

It’s pleasing to see my long-term EOS clients are all managing it well, with the structure & focus that EOS brings.

Some, who are still on the beginning of their journey, are feeling hesitant & the thought of doing Virtual sessions can be off-putting & we’re working through how we can make this work for them.

Again, I get this. And if I’m honest, virtual sessions require a huge amount of energy from me – much more than in-person, however after doing these for close to 19 months now (I did the first virtual session before the world closed down & EOS realised that virtual would become a thing!), I have learned with each session that I do.

With a mixture of technology & good, old fashioned whiteboards & a workshop space that is set up perfectly with hardware for online/virtual sessions, I think I can just about replicate the ‘in-person’ experience.’

And now that I have overseas clients & teams that are spread around the world, it is becoming more common, even without lockdowns.

The only thing you miss out on is the snacks (which your waistline might thank you for) & the bar at the end of the session (which your liver might be grateful for too!)

I’ve done over 20 virtual EOS sessions, 4 in the last month & they’ve been great. Exhausting? Yes. But still got the same outcomes & we still had fun!

So, don’t let virtual hold you back from your journey. If you’ve got issues, they won’t go away, so let’s start dealing with them – it’s a perfect time to work ON the business rather than IN the business.

  • Your team might well have more time to work on the business than during ‘normal’ times

Sack those family members & create a better life for the family!

I know – it’s hard to get rid of family, friends & shareholders from the day to day operations of the business, but have you considered what effect it is having on the business & the rest of the ‘family’?

“When you ignore performance issues, no one feels good. The business suffers and unnecessary conflict grows. This hurts the business and the family.”

Whilst this article is written specifically about family members, the same could be said of friends & shareholders.

So, what can you do about it?

Use GWC & the 3 strike process.

“No one, especially family members, wants to perform badly and have no one talk about it. It is like having something in your teeth for hours at a party only to find out that no one told you. It is embarrassing and kills trust. Getting these conversations out in the open is hard, but also kind and productive. Invest in your family business by following this process with all employees, especially family members.”

FIND OF THE WEEK

Coffee is more important than ever

Yes I’m back to one of my favourite topics again – decent coffee!

As a loyal customer of Wacaco, I was Invited to pre-purchase one of their new machines. I did this a few months ago & this week It arrived.

I have to say I don’t regret It. The packaging was superb but what’s more important Is that they seem to have seriously Invested In the design of the product.

This one feels so much more sturdy that their original one that I bought years ago.

It’s smaller & has a bigger coffee basket – so It’s perfect for people like me who like a ristretto or espresso coffee that is short, strong & non-bitter.

It comes with its own carry case & a decent Tampa that sits inside the coffee machine.

So If you’re like me & travel a lot for work or enjoy camping (or used to!) & don’t want to take your Jura or Rocket machine camping or into the office with you, then this could be the perfect option.
