As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. With Annual Planning season coming up, be on the lookout for sharks

Although the ocean desperately needs sharks to help maintain the balance of marine ecosystems, business is not so much! Sharks can be as tiny as your hand or as big as a bus, swimming undetected until it’s too late. Sharks/issues in business have the same approach – whether large or small, if not recognised early enough, could and will cause problems down the track.

With us still sitting early in 2023 and with the financial year ending soon, now is the best time to put some time aside and prep your 2-day annual planning session. This article is a fantastic resource for key business risks, building business resiliency and mitigating day-to-day issues. In sticking with ocean metaphors, make your annual planning session the anchor of your business – celebrate, learn, connect, support and stabilise the team.

Test your intolerance kit

An estimated 10% to 30% of the global population has an allergic disease. But not all people are affected in the same way and there can be a variety of potential causes. Some allergic reactions are mild with only a little bit of discomfort while others can cause greater long-term challenges.

If you have a little niggle (or a big one!) or would like to get your suspicions confirmed, I would absolutely recommend this at home allergy testing kit. With just a small pin prick in the comfort of your own home, it can test up to 117 common triggers. With more than 450,000+ customer reviews and the results straight to your inbox, you haven’t got anything to lose. This NZ site also provides in-depth science backing to further understand how the process works!

Connector – a community for mid-sized businesses

Have you been searching for the right ‘networking’ group for your mid-market and fast-growing company but found the environments to be a bit too sales-focused or business card centric? Connector NZ is an ‘anti networking’ community that meets once a month to support learning, sharing and connecting.

If you are based in Auckland, North Harbour, Wellington, Christchurch or close by to these regions, check out this amazing community of like-minded businesspeople also looking to build relationships and support each other without the networking stigma.
