As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know – debra@debrachantry-taylor.com

BETTER BUSINESS

It’s time to set yourself apart from the competition.

Are you making the most out of your marketing strategy? Sometimes we have the best ideas, but we must approach them correctly or develop them enough to optimise and give us their full potential. A little background work on the strategy now could help harness your business to get the most out of the little things and stand out against your competitors.

Having your customers understand what makes you different and unique is the first step in the 3-step plan – updating your promotional material to align with what your business stands for and delivering a consistent message. Not only should your printed material showcase your ‘why’, but your employees should be able to provide a genuine blurb about what sets you apart. After all, they are their salesperson for their work. Finally, create a platform that showcases what makes you an exceptional company to potential customers, then share it!

BETTER LIFE

6 weeks until 2023 and 6 tips to take the break!

How is it possible that Christmas is next month already?! We all know those days between Christmas and New Year that feel like a blissful Saturday – we don’t know what time it is; the sun is shining, and we are not constantly worrying about work. Well, if you think you might skip those few days of relaxation this year, then think again. Studies have proven that sometimes a small break is all we need to affect our mental and physical health positively. Lowering blood pressure, getting more sleep and increasing productivity are just a few benefits.

If you are still on the fence about taking a break this year, take a quick break and read through the benefits of why a holiday is essential for our health.

24 delicious doors

Remember the excitement as a kid, each day in December, opening a new window and seeing what surprise hides behind the door? Well, say hello to the adult advent calendar!

I have already ordered the wine calendar and am keeping a close eye on the letterbox for the moment it arrives. But if wine is not your choice, beer or whiskey would be a delicious treat too. I promise to try my best and stick to just one door a day.

PODCAST OF THE WEEK

Wade Jackson is a master storyteller, the founder of Covert Theatre and ‘Sexy Monkey Pants’ at Inspired Learning. He is also an author of several books, including Jolt Challenge, a manual and workbook to deep dive into oneself.

In this episode, he discusses how improv is a form of genuine play that teaches you about yourself and connects you to others. It creates a truly safe environment where failure is just as okay, it’s part of the learning process. He opened Covert Theatre’s doors to make space for anyone to come self create, self discover and self express.

As a high performance coach, he takes the principles of improv into the corporate world. He aligns them to business needs, using improv exercises as a reflective mirror to help leadership teams develop self awareness. He also works with companies in the human-centred design space, helping create a strong culture where creativity flourishes.

Find out how to get started with improv and the tools he teaches for creating creativity & building a life filled with meaningful happiness.
