As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know – debra@debrachantry-taylor.com

BETTER BUSINESS

What’s your flavour?

Are you in the happy middle when it comes to the documentation of your processes?

Customers can get your what from a competitor company, but they can’t get your how – how you do what you do or how you do things to make your business special. Therefore, they need to receive the same exceptional service and experience each time. But, how do you ensure they get that? The answer is by documenting your processes.

Most companies are either over-detailed or under-detailed – too much detail makes it hard to follow, and not enough details make it hard to follow, follow the link to find out the best practice to get your core processes down.

BETTER LIFE

Happy, Healthy, Plan and Prioritise

Here are 7 tips to help you refill your energy account and become more mindful. One of the 7 tips is ‘avoid news overdose’. I stopped watching the news almost 10 years ago & only when I am bored do I browse through the Herald. I realised that I couldn’t affect anything on the news & so there was no point in me wasting energy on it – especially as it is so negative. I also know that if there is something that I need to know about that, someone will tell me, or it will be on social media. So now, I spend that time reading books & listening to podcasts.

FIND OF THE WEEK

The Cookie Project

The Cookie Project is a social enterprise that looks to employ Kiwis with disabilities.

Why did Graeme start this?

  • To be able to create and provide employment for people with disabilities.
  • They give them the feeling of self-worth and that they still count as part of the society we are all living in.

Not only is the Cookie Project committed to making the best butter cookies with clean ingredients, but they have created a safe space for people with disabilities to have a sense of belonging. An award-winning cookie with an inclusive ethos sounds like the perfect afternoon pick-me-up for all – yum!
