How to get 10,000 small wins

If you’ve just started your EOS journey, you & your team are likely to feel overwhelmed. That’s 100% normal! You’re learning & implementing a completely new system – starting anything new is not easy…. Just ask my personal trainer how I am going at the moment!

This article, “How to master EOS with 10,000 punches” goes into three key tips to help you along your transition from conscious incompetence through to unconscious competence.

Repetition makes progress. You have to create change through repeated, mindful practice.

As this article says, “regardless of what you want to change, it takes time and lots of work to make habits become second nature.”

And not just repetition, it needs to be repeated with good form. Otherwise you’re just mastering the wrong way to do something – that’s not what we want & it makes your life unnecessarily difficult. The path to EOS mastery is implementing and using the EOS tools correctly & consistently as you follow the proven process, even when it is difficult.

It really does sound like my gym sessions with my personal trainer.

So how do you know that you’re practicing good form?

Get an expert opinion. Good coaches & Implementers reaffirm your team’s wins & successes while calling out the bullshit – all from a third-party point of view. They create accountability and challenge you throughout your journey.

The sooner EOS becomes second nature, the faster you can focus on & maximise what you are truly great at.

“Focus on getting 10,000 small wins through repetition, good form, and solid coaching.”

BETTER LIFE

Self-watering vege pods

We just got these small garden beds at home so that we grow herbs & vegetable with the fear of snails. And I have to say I’m impressed!

These garden pods come with a protective cover, a watering system & they don’t need to be watered as often because of the way they are built! Their website says plants can last weeks in these pods without being watered due to self-watering technology. If you’re a forgetful or busy person who just can’t seem to keep plants alive, this could be the answer to your plant-woes.

We bought them to try a different solution to the massive snail problem we had in our vegetable garden. Last time we tried snail bait & that had tragic consequences – RIP our darling Artemis 💖

Now we will be able to have healthy, thriving plants like basil, beans & chilis that we use to cook with or garnish. And it’ll be fantastic to grow strawberries in the summer where the birds can’t peck at them!

It looks like a great fit for homes without a backyard, just have a pod or two wherever you have space but it’s also good if you’re getting old & don’t want to bend down = Me!

Maintaining your own vegetable garden can seem like a too much hassle but with these pods it makes growing fresh produce easy & the benefits far outweigh the time you put in.

We’ve recently planted some radish seeds and can’t wait to see them grow!

FIND OF THE WEEK

Is your family business part of the community?

One of my biggest passions is working with family businesses & helping them through their unique challenges. And so when I joined Family Business NZ earlier this year, it was a perfect fit of values & passion.

Family Business New Zealand supports family businesses to thrive & prosper, helping them build successful & sustainable family business for generations to come.

It’s an incredible community that brings family businesses together, providing resources & networking opportunities for their members. It’s also where I learned about becoming an Accredited Family Business Advisor & that’s why I am back at Uni – something I swore I would NEVER do again!

I attended the Family Business NZ event this week which was hosted by the Jones family, who run Kitchen Things in Newmarket as well as Jones Servicing & a range of other services. It was such an incredible environment to share & learn – I highly recommend it to every single family business.

If you’d like to attend one of the events as my guest, please get in touch with me. I’d love to have you come along and see if this community is for you.

There’s also the Family Business Insights Conference coming up on Tuesday 21st June. FBNZ has kindly offered a members-only discounted rate for my clients. So if you’re interested in attending with a 20% discount, please let me know.

I’ve already paid for & secured my spot as I have no doubt the conference will be hugely valuable. Look forward to seeing some of you there 😊
