As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know –

What gets measured gets managed…

Peter Drucker first brought this to our attention. It seems obvious right?

And yet, sadly, all too often I see companies only tracking lagging or trailing indicators, like finances & only looking at weekly numbers rather than looking for trends. Problem with this, is that by the time we see these figures, it’s too late.

So, what should you be tracking?

“The best Scorecard measurables are ACTIVITY-BASED, LEADING INDICATORS. If tracked with frequency and consistency, they deliver the results that we ultimately want to see on our financial reports (which are the trailing indicators of success).”

This article goes into more details about how you can use a scorecard to address off-track numbers on your Issues List and catch little problems before they snowball.

I also have a great resource that gives you all types of possible indicators for all the different areas of your business – how you measure them, what they show you etc. – Just drop me an email & I will send it to you –

How do you create your EOS Life?

You have likely heard me talking about the EOS Life…

But if you haven’t, or you’ve forgotten, let me remind you.

The EOS Life is:

  • Doing what you love
  • With people you live
  • Making a significant difference
  • Being compensated appropriately
  • With time to pursue other passions

It’s what us EOS Implementers want for ourselves but also for our clients.

EOS was designed to help you & your team achieve this & more recently Gino has written a book about it.

And now there is a planner that is designed to go along with the book & give you a planner that guides you each day.

“Is settling for “pretty good” keeping you from living your ideal life? In The EOS Life , EOS founder Gino Wickman laid the groundwork for readers to create their ideal life–one where you do what you love every day with people you enjoy working with, make a huge impact, and get compensated well–and still have plenty of time to pursue other passions, hobbies and interests that energize you. The EOS Life Journal + Planner is the essential companion, offering: Exercises that help you apply what you learned in the book Questions to get your gears turning Daily planning pages designed for maximum productivity Space to take important notes Stop settling for less and start living your best life–this EOS life.”

You can grab them locally from TradeMe or from Amazon.

And for 5 lucky readers I am going to send them an EOS life book, with one person getting an EOS Life Journal as well.

Just email me & tell me why you’d like to live the EOS life –

Laughter is the best medicine…

And if so, is it a wake up in a blind panic type of dream or is it more of a ‘how do I get better at what I do?’ sort of dream?

And we all need a bit of that at the moment don’t we?

So,  when I came across this listing on TradeMe this week, I got a large dose of medicine 😊

I have been following it all week & the questions & answers are just fantastic.

I even placed a bid on it, as it is for a good cause.

But get in quick, the listing closes on Saturday at 6.59pm & then all the Questions & Answers will disappear I think?

Plus this video from my friend Michelle Dickinson had me further in stitches.

This one is inspired by much of what I see on social media these days 😊

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.” – Albert Einstein
