As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know –

Free Tools to help you grow

One of the things I most love about EOS is our core values:

  • Help First
  • Humbly Confident
  • Do what we say
  • Do the right thing
  • Grow or die

You can see what these all mean by visiting my EOS worldwide page

But it’s the ‘Help First’ value that first resonated with me. It fits in with the way I have always operated my businesses.

And the great thing is that EOS, as a global organisation have this huge access to a wealth of resources, which they give away – all completely free.

From e-books on how to be a great boss, how to lead world-class meetings & how to make decisions to videos that share how to use the EOS tools to organisational check-ups to see how you are going.

If you haven’t been to the site yet – go on, take a look. There’s no obligation & you might just find something that helps you with growing your business or yourself.

Switch off from the outside world

I think everyone on a Leadership Team should have a remarkable. I know I have mentioned this wonderful gadget before (when I first scored one with my windfall) but seriously, now that I have had it for a couple of months, I am a wee bit obsessed…. In a good way!

For someone who suffers from ADHD & gets easily distracted, even when I am not on a computer or phone or iPad with things popping up, this device is a godsend.

You can write, draw & scribble on pdfs & books without any possibility of being distracted by anything online.

It’s still connected to my Dropbox, OneDrive & google drive so you can get to all the files that you need & bring them onto your Remarkable pad but you can’t browse or get distracted by emails or messages. It’s just like having a notepad, except that you can convert to text, send the pdfs to yourself & store everything nice 7 neatly into folders.

So, imagine if your leadership team had these in meetings?

They could scribble away but you would know that they are no more distracted than if they had a pad of paper in front of them,. This could be the best Level 10 Meeting tool yet!

Combine it with the eink pads template installer & you can design your own templates – use existing templates – create templates in word etc & upload them to your Remarkable.

And you can even plug it into your laptop & beam it up onto the big screen.

It is also great for your Clarity Breaks where you want to scribble & write without any distractions. I feel this is an EOS game changer!

PM me if you want the info for the template installer.

Are your customers listening?

I had the pleasure of talking to Rob Hughes on my podcast last week. He is a Certified Story Brand Guide and he introduced me to the book, “Building a Story Brand”.

I have only just started the first few pages so don’t expect any amazing nuggets just yet but what I heard about it on the podcast was enough to get me excited.

The premise is that by using stories you get clarity in your messaging.

From what I can see it’s based on the work by Joseph Campbell on the Heroes journey – the same premise that all good movies & books use about how the hero goes on an adventure, is victorious in a decisive crisis, and comes home changed or transformed.

But it relates to marketing your service or product.

The book promises to make marketing easy:

  • Become a Marketing Ninja!
  • Make Marketing Fun!
  • Get Serious Results!

Rob offers a free 30-minute training session – I highly recommend it as a good place to start:

And you can find out more about building a Story Brand here:
