As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.
Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. Happy families!
It’s almost time for the whole family to get together at Christmas… Exciting, but it doesn’t always turn out as planned!
If you’re not clear about who is doing what, it can end in disaster – speaking from experience 😊
Plus you do need a plan & you may also need to understand the rules of the game for the family. Who wears what hat, who has a vested interest in different things & how it all works together.
The same can be said for a family business. There are some quite unique things about family businesses that create challenges (& opportunities!) & EOS is perfect for helping with these unique issues.

I agree with her that EOS is made for family businesses – I love using the tools with my family business clients, as well as my professional service clients where it’s just like an extended family!
But with Christmas coming, it might be worthwhile doing a mini accountability chart for your family to get you through the day & out the other side 😊

Do your quotes truly represent you?
Many years ago I came across a small NZ business that had launched an online quoting system.
As we ran an events centre & we issued lots of quotes with varying options & products / services, it was getting challenging to come up with a template that we could use that didn’t require a huge amount of work each time to customise it.
So finding a piece of software that not only stored all of your products & services, linked through to your Xero inventory & invoicing, so that you can quickly & easily add them to a quote, it also gives your customers the options to change quantities, pick & choose options & so much more.
You can add images for each product or service plus attachments – pdfs, images, documents etc.
And you can answer questions in the app so that you have a record of the conversations you have had & what you have committed to.
Your clients accept the quote online & it goes straight into Xero as a draft invoice.
There’s so much that I could tell you about it but let’s just say it’s such a great product & we still use it for our workshop space & events.
