As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know –

DO LESS, but do it BETTER

Having too many priorities in a business can be overwhelming and lead to a lack of focus.

It’s important for business leaders to identify ONE long-term TARGET. Once that target is established, THAT is the priority. Then they can set tasks and goals that lead to achieving that target. Doing those few things exceptionally well requires a clear understanding of the business’s core values, mission, and objectives.

EOS® provides a business leader with the tools to ‘do less but do it better’ by helping define the Core Focus™, 3-Year Picture™ and 10 Year Target. Then by eliminating non-essential tasks and projects using the Vision/Traction Organizer® (V/TO) the business is well on the way to successfully prioritising and realising their TARGET.

Ultimately, the key to success is to focus on doing a few things exceptionally well rather than trying to do everything at once.

EOS offers a simple guide to DOING LESS but DOING IT BETTER.

And for someone like me (The Queen of crazy ideas & shifting focus) & especially Denise & Craig (who have to manage me!), that’s a blessing!

If we can shift our mindset away from fear or out of a fearful mindset, where we might feel isolated and alone, into a more exploratory mindset, this helps us adapt and learn. So how could we do that?

First, you need to dedicate time to exploration, to get curious and explore.

When you fear that the world might be changing, or is changing, then step out of that mindset and start to explore that sense of change. The key is to feel curious.

This process, this exploration, the ‘EXPLORER MINDSET’, is a perfect opportunity to collaborate with others, so don’t do it alone. Getting people together to do this and collaborating to explore will create a sense of connectedness, not just with each other but also a sense of working on something that’s bigger than just yourself.
