As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know –

Mind that GAP!

Are you a manager with a team of YES (wo)men?

It’s important to establish clear and concise communication channels within the organisation to prevent miscommunication. This includes using simple and direct language, avoiding technical jargon, and being mindful of cultural differences that may affect how conversations are heard and received.

One of the most important tools you can use is actively listening to others and clarifying any misunderstandings as soon as they arise. By encouraging open and honest communication, setting clear expectations, and providing feedback, you help to develop trust and foster a more productive and positive work environment. Without this, serious communication gaps can arise, and colleagues may be afraid to tell you about the challenges they are facing; leaving out the bad stuff leaves you in the dark!

EOS® provides you with tools to enable healthy, open and honest team communication. You will learn to use The trust builders™, which enable your teams to communicate openly and honestly. You will use Meeting Pulse™ and Level 10 meetings™ to structure your meetings and discuss expectations that will hopefully CLOSE THAT GAP.

Are YOU living your BEST LIFE?

Are you settling for “pretty good” instead of living the life you really want?

None of us wants to settle for less, but with the pressures and complexities of our everyday lives, we find ourselves putting off, delaying or even avoiding living our truly best life!

In his book ‘The EOS Life’, EOS founder Gino Wickman laid the groundwork for readers to create your ideal life – one where you do what you love every day with people you enjoy working and spending time with, and you still have plenty of time for the other hobbies and interests that energise you.

He introduces us to the EOS Life Journal + Planner, a companion to The EOS Life, which takes you through a process of exercises to help you apply the principles you learn in the book. You then work through a series of questions to get your thoughts in order and use the daily planner to ensure you are maximising your productivity:

• Exercises that help you apply what you learned

• Questions to get you thinking

• Daily planning pages to maximise your output

• Space to make notes

Stop settling for less and start living your best life! EOS can show you how.

What a little gem

I have just now thought about owning my own carpet spot cleaner.

BECAUSE doggy # 2, Hermes, deposited a little gift on the carpet at work today – of course, it had to have happened WHILE WE WERE EATING.

I am seriously pleased that my Dad left me one of these!

The little carpet cleaner lightly scrubbed, washed and vacuumed, gently removing ALL the residuals quickly and cleanly. All it took was to lift the solids, then run the brush/wash/ vac nozzle over the spot with mild detergent and water in the tank. ET VOILA!

A quick and straightforward solution to a yucky problem. Thanks to the little Bissell Spot Clean. I even enjoyed using it!

Appreciation at the HEART of business.

I got to speak with Steve Buzogany, sales expert and the owner of ‘Appreciation Advocate’, about why expressing appreciation in a business context can become one of the most effective tools in your sales and marketing plan. From a background in real estate, Steve spotted a gap in the market which inspired him to develop his business.

He tells me how an effective and timely gifting plan can open doors and lead to loyal staff or a customer base who feel appreciated and understood.

He even gives you free access to his gifting course. It certainly changed my perspective on appreciation & gifting.
