As we head into another week, I take great pleasure in sharing my curated articles, tips & tools in a short read that will hopefully give you a few ‘aha’ moments as well as some laughter or joy. Most of all I hope it gives you pragmatic inspiration & helps you on your journey to doing what you love, with people you love, making a huge difference, being compensated appropriately with time to pursue other passions – #TheEOSLife.

Here’s this week’s business tip, life hack & find of the week… Some of them are original, most are things I have come across in my weekly pursuit of self-improvement & living a better life, through creating a better business. And don’t forget the inspirational quote, which you can download as a wallpaper or lock screen for your phone.

As always, if you find great things that you’d like to share then feel free to email me for inclusion in one of my weekly newsletters. I’m always looking for new & exciting things to share each week. And if you think someone else would like to receive the newsletter in their inbox, directly from my inbox (no newsletter apps used here!) then please let me know – debra@debrachantry-taylor.com

BETTER LIFE

Fur babies at work?

If you run your own business like us, you may be in the privileged position of being able to bring your pet to work. Why would you do that, you ask?

Here are some reasons why you might consider bringing your little fluff-tail to work with you:

Unconditional Love: Pets, especially dogs and cats, offer unconditional love to their owners. They don’t judge, criticise or hold grudges, which can be a great source of comfort and happiness.

Reducing Stress and Anxiety: Studies have shown that spending time with pets can reduce human stress and anxiety levels. Research has shown that simply petting a dog lowers the stress hormone cortisol.

Exercise and Activity: Owning a pet, particularly a dog, can encourage us to be more active and engage in regular exercise.

Emotional Support: Pets can provide emotional support during difficult times, such as after a loss or during a period of stress.

And that is why we love having Apollo Chantry-Taylor & Hermes Chantry-Taylor in our office 💖

FIND OF THE WEEK

Bye-bye gadgets, Hello bench space.

In anticipation of moving into our new ‘small but perfectly formed’ townhouse, I recently purchased a Thermomix.

This little beauty has replaced my egg maker, slow cooker, rice cooker & food processor.

And instead of buying those occasional use flours and storing a whole bag when you only need one cup for one recipe, the Thermomix can grind almonds, rice, beans & chickpeas to flour in seconds.

This machine has freed up space in my kitchen. I truly DO NOT know myself. I now only have the coffee maker, my toaster & the air fryer on my bench top, alongside my new favourite toy.

PODCAST OF THE WEEK

Business freedom with Ralph Shale

Ralph Shale is a member of the CFO Centre and specialises in advising high-growth businesses. They may need funding or advice on dealing with the growing pains associated with a high-growth company.

In this podcast, Ralph speaks with Debra about the business owners he has helped. He suggests they find business and personal freedom by making the right decisions about where and when they find funding and how it is applied… i.e. the right provider at the right time in their business growth journey trajectory.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE
